Ruby Weapon

Ruby Weapon is without a doubt the most difficult enemy in all of FF7. Not because he has 1,000,000 HP, but because his battle tactics are downright crude, rude & unattractive. This guide should help you defeat him with the minimum perspiration on your behalf.

Ruby Weapon is immune to almost everything that unless his claws are in the ground are in the ground. When they're not in the ground he likes to club you with them & hit a few thousand each. He also very fond of Comet 2 spell. This creates four strikes causing 2000+ HPs of Damage each. To make matters worse, this battle is considered an attack from both sides, so there is no back row to hide in. Ruby also has an attack where he randomly chooses & removes them from the combat, so eventually, you can expect this to be a one on one battle. When his claws are buried, two "fingers" appear behind the party. Each claw has a few thousand HP. One of the claws hits for physical damage & the other, more dangerous claw strikes causing the loss of several hundred MP. Only Knights of the Round, Bahomut, Neo Bahomut, Bahomut Zero, & Ultima can hurt Ruby Weapon when his claws are out of the ground. These are "unblockable attacks". It's worth noting that you can cast Exit to get out of this combat. You return to the overworld & Ruby Weapon stands there staring at you.
